We’re hiring: Project Coordinators (Bag to School)

Overview

‍Bridges to Hope is a food aid centre located at 37 Cookstown Road, St. John’s. Our mission is to provide dignified and accessible assistance to our neighbours experiencing food insecurity. Serving an average of 1,500 total individuals per month, we are dedicated to providing low-barrier emergency food assistance to individuals and families in the Metro region.

We are currently hiring two full-time Project Coordinators to oversee our annual Bag to School program, providing school supply assistance to families in the St. John’s Metro region.

Responsibilities

Project Coordinators will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Bridges to Hope’s Bag to School program, including:

  • Program registration (online, by phone, in person)

  • Responding to inquiries from the public about the program

  • Drafting public communications related to the program including social media and newsletter content

  • Assisting with fundraising initiatives and donation drives related to the program

  • Managing inventory of donated supplies and working with suppliers to procure needed supplies in a cost-effective manner

  • Scheduling and supervising volunteers during registration, packing, and distribution of backpacks

  • Developing a feedback survey for program participants

Candidate Eligibility‍ ‍

These positions are funded by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Summer Employment Program for Students. To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be returning to post-secondary studies or high school in September

  • Be legally entitled to work full-time in Canada

  • Note: A Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hiring.

Working Conditions

  • ‍This is an in-person role at our main office, 37 Cookstown Road

  • ‍Full-time at 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday) from June 8 until September 4, 2026

  • $16.35 per hour
