FAQ: For Clients & Volunteers

  • I have never accessed a food bank before. Do I need to call ahead?

No. We offer drop-in hours 4 mornings a week. When you arrive, our Intake Coordinator will take your information and set you up for an account with the Community Food Sharing Association. This is a central database used by all food banks in the St. John’s-Metro region.

Our hours of operation are as follows:

    Monday: Closed
Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 am – 12:50 pm (drop-in, no appointment necessary)
Wednesday evening: 6-8pm (by appointment only). Appointments can be booked here.

  • Is MCP required to access the food bank?

Non-expired MCP cards for each member of the family/household are required. Please note we do not store client data, so you need to bring all MCP cards each time you visit the food bank.

If you are a new resident of Newfoundland and Labrador and do not have MCP coverage yet, you can bring your out-of-province health card or another form of government-issued ID. You will need to bring identification for each member of your family/household.
